the cost of the tool is much cheaper than damage a small piece of wire can do - - it's your electronics

Cant u just put the key to the accesory position and pin the gas to the floor 3 times in 5 seconds? it works on other OBD2 cars.

guys, the reason people damage it on their e36 is b/c they just short pins 7 and 19, however, the way you are supposed to do it is with a resistor, your not supposed to just short it, now i dont know how many OHMS the resistor is(if that makes any sense) but u can find out(its not just shorting the pins!)
