Electrically F*cked

I need some MAJOR help

i'm just going to get right into it

earlier today i hardwired a valentine one into my buddie's e46, used a brown ground wire and green and blue power wire from the universal transmitter pre-wire, to attach the v1, worked perfectly

i had already planned to wrap my selector rod with solder for a cheap weighted selector rod as detailed on understeer.com

here:

http://www.understeer.com/cheapwsr.shtml

so i figure what the heck might as well do my valentine one as well, since i already had a project planned

get home

first thing i do is try connecting the v1 to the sunroof switch via black/yellow wire which i believe to be power, and brown ground wire

when i turned on the valetine, the sunroof opened

i'm thinking in my haste i tapped the wires after the switch not before

basically then the sunroof wouldn't close or do anything, it seemed like it was dead, so i get my allen wrench out and close the sunroof manually

then i think oh well i'll take that into work(bmw dealership) tommorow and figure it out probably not a big deal

so then i searched google got a thread from bimmerforums that said use the purple and white hote wire from map/dome light assembly and brown ground wire

so i try that with the wire tap crimp connections

still nothing

after i tried that the map/dome lights don't work

i figure ok done with that do the selector rod

so i do the selector rod

put the car back down

i go to start the car, car starts and immediately dies, basically my life is over is what i'm thinking lol, icv stuck closed? who knows, maybe it's not getting power because of all the electrical problems,

the engine will stay on if i keep the gas pressed in

but as soon as i take my foot of the gas it dies

also during this whole dieing situation, obc read tailight failure, and the driver's side taillight and parking light weren't working, but the turn signal was

then i checked windows they don't work either, and niether do the vanity lights? above the sun visors

so here's where i'm at now:

1)engine turns on, dies immediately, will stay on however if i stay on the gas
(i'm assuming icv isn't getting power with the elctrical mishaps, just assuming)
2)sunroof doesn't move at all
3)windows don't move
4)driver side tail light out
5)driver side parking light won't come on
6)vanity lights out
7)map/dome light out

basically if all else fails i'll have to tow it to my work and hope my boss can hook me up, doubt it though, but i'm definitely going to talk to someone at work tommorow

basically i need help, i rushed something, and continued to rush things, until i thouroughly screwed myself over, and well just looking for any help at all

thanks in advance

Without seeing it, I'm guessing you loosened a ground source that handles a major amount of ground connections or created a short accross a ground bundle by the amount of electrical issues you're having at one time. Go back and reconnect all the wires you tapped into and check nearby for an "un-intentional" cut...

the first thing was remove what i added, none of the wires i tapped into were cut or severed at all, they're wholey intact and no fuses were blown

how about relays, like the DME relay? i dont think you have 1 million problems, just 1 problem(or 2) that will fix everything

well apparently 2a.m. in a dimmly lit garage when you're exhausted and upset isn't a good time or place to check for blown fuses, because i checked the fuses last night multiple times and didn't see anything wrong, got it into the sunlight today, saw 3 clearly blown fuses, switched em out, everything works fine, just have to figure out how to CORRECTLY hardwire a v1 to an e36 now

thanks to everyone for the help
