yes the length of the shifter is changed but it doesn't sit any lower, it's actually longer than stock, but it changes the distance you have to move the shifter to get the car from one gear to the other

i got a B&M shrt shift. Got it for free from Donald/Chris. He replaced it with a Mcoupe shifter.

anywho...good stuff.
