Time for a new ECU DME

Well,

After the defect of bmw not fixing the hoses behind the firewall and when you take a E36 to a car wash, the ECU compartment gets flooded with water and thus can ruin the ECU.

I tried to fix it. however it does not work, Pelican parts http://www.pelicanparts.com/bmw/tech...DME-Repair.htm
has a great guide on how to do it.

However I believe my ECU is damaged beyond repair and my car simply won't turn over.

Has anyone had any difficulty swapping a ECU? I talked to my BMW mechanic and he said the ECU thing is quite common.

Any advice or guide on how to get the part?

??? Thanks

call a dealership's parts dept. and ask. If they dont know ask for service, that MIGHT but usually just deal with customers.

I tried to use the OBDI by stepping on the gas pedal 5 times but the Check engine light doesn't flash or anything.

So It turns out that it wasn't the ECU after all(installed 2 new ones and the car still wouldnt start), so i checked the fuel hose where the fuel rail is and guess what...no gas coming through, soo I think its the fuel pump, my car has 145k miles and was running strong before hand...

i got one off of ebay(brand new) for 160(2nd day delivery)

hope it works
