Brand new cooling system
Okay so on Sunday I overheated. I had all kinds of anti-freeze spewing out of my reserve tank (I'm glad it's not the radiator!)
So, my step dad, who's a long time mechanic, but has limited experience with Bimmers, has replaced the water pump (the OEM plastic pulley was noticably junk), the thermostat, the coolant level sensor inside the reserve tank and the coolant temperature sensor on the top left of the radiator.
The car is STILL overheating!!! GRRRRR!!!!!!
The radiator is fine and the electric fan works as well.
What's going on?

It's a closed system, so it needs to be bled properly. You probably still have air in the system. Here's how, scroll all the way down towards the bottom of the article:
^^^Why? With all the things I've replaced on my E36, it's almost a brand new car I really do plan to get an E39, but I just have too many things going on right now. But it's still my ultimate goal someday, then maybe you can teach me all you know

Sorry I havent responded lately, I was without internet for like a month because Comcast blows.
Anyways... here's an update on the cooling thing..
Two days after I bled the system and I was back on the road, the A/C belt snapped and kicked up into the engine, and continued to, one-by-one shatter my clutch fan blades (and, in the process, slicing several wires, hoses, etc) which had me off the road for an additional 4 days.
Man, this thing is turning out to be quite the money pit....
In other news, I did see the sexiest E46 M3 at a car show yesterday. Im jealous.
HAHA
