Like I mentioned in another thread, it appears BMW didn't use a very long lasting adhesive in their E36s.... The leatherette is pulling away on some parts of my passenger side door... Bleah. :mad

Geezz what a suprise (e-sarcasism) BMW has had the bubbling adhesive problem since the production of the first E36. They were on a "bio-degradeable" adhesive kick back then and have made attempts at improving but it's a common problem. If you can get at it, 3M spray adhesive is a proven fix. Follow 3Ms' instructions carefully.

Yep, the E36 design concept was based on a car with parts and materials that could be recycleable and environmentally friendly :angry Mine are bubbling too, but it's not too noticeable yet, I'm more worried about my headliner. I can vouch for the 3M stuff- it worked wonders for my sunroof liner.

d, i'm actually fixing my panels today. mine were so bubbled out that I just took them off and ripped off the plastic vynil crap. I could actually play music with them if i poked them enough. sad, i know. I'm going to use 3m super trim adhesive. other than that... so people suggest to get a syringe and puncture the vynil with that and squirt the glue it that way.

^^^Hmm . . I bought it in a spray can, I guess it comes in another form?
