susp. upgrade components (mounts, etc.)

ok, so my next upgrade is the suspension so my car doesn't look like a 4x4 any more.

I am getting Bilstein Sport shocks ($435 shipped new)

and probably H&R Sports 1.5" F/1.0" R ($225 +S/H)

now my question is, what other things will I need to install this? I know I should probably get new rear shock mounts, but aside from that, what else?

You may need upper strut bearings, but that's kinda hard to judge until you pull the old struts out. Then maybe new coil spring pads, depending on how your current ones are faring (don't know if the new H&R's come with them?).

O yea, just remembered . . people don't think this is important, but try to use all new hardware to mount the struts and shocks in, especially the mounting nuts on the shock towers. They're designed for one time use, because they slightly deform to lock in place once they're tightened down. If not, use a threadlocker, like Loctite 262. Pelican parts will have the nuts, they're the same for front and rear.

The upper strut-to-hub bolt & nut is a bear to remove because there's not much clearance to get a big ratchet in there to really crank on it. To get it loose, I jammed a breaker bar against the strut housing to exert more force:

Lastly, remember that the lower mounting bolt on the rear shock should be tightened down while the car is on the ground, not while jacked up.

Make sure you get new front upper strut bearings. (It's just not worth doing the job twice.)

Trust me, if anyone knows how u feel... it'd be me..... But here is an idea, put your car on autotrader, just to see if you get responses. I put mine at a high price just to see what would happened, and I sold it for a price that I was good with (higher than my rock bottom)...

yeah, the only problem with that is, I still owe money on it, and I dont want to have to pay it all off, then finance again, or buy something for less.
