That is the one he thought he had solved by replacing the gas cap. Apparently it came back. Could be anywhere really from the gas cap to a manifold exhaust leak.

i found harry's thread on one of the other forums.... i don't even remember which one anymore about petroleum jelly around the inside of the gas cap, we just tried that, hopefully it'll go away.

You need to drive the car for at least 50 miles before getting an emissions check in order for the computer to be able to read your car. And if you have a CEL, you won't pass.
However the day before you picked up the car, Laura and I hopped in the car and just drove around for over 80 miles, and didn't get a check engine light. =/
