THank you for holding. Geico is still saying the same thing. If I file through Geico and have them go after the other party's insurance, I will NOT get a rental. I just tried to call this dude's insurance and - wow - they aren't open until Monday, 8:30AM.

anybody know what i'd be looking at for a hood, bumper, grill, cooling fan unit, and maybe the radiator support frame? plus paint w/all that?

Ha. Well in a way I know how bad this is. Strange cause Cel's car was hit from the back. But anyway, I just hope you get that idiot's insurance to make your car right!

yeah. but my resale value is gonna take a hit, too. :-( I'm hoping that the frame doesn't need any pulling and that the engine is sound. I'm a little worried about the tranny. I was trying to get it from Drive into Reverse when I saw him coming. I don't know if I got hit whilst switching gears. I was talking to my old man, who was a mechanic for over 40 years, and he said it's possible that could affect how the tranny functions. With the already existing problem I was having w/the tranny, I'm a tad nervous.

I would try going through the other guys insurance. You won't have to pay you deductable, you won't have anything on your insurance to raise your rates. I would take it to a body shop and let them deal with the insurance company. My wife has gotten hit 4 times and we always take it to a body shop and they go after the insurance. You don't pay a dime and your insurance is clean.

actually, to be honest, if he hit you as hard as you're implying, the front of the frame may be bent, and if it is, you're pretty much f'ed as far as any resale at all.

don't tell them you already had tranny problems, say it wasn't tehre before he hit your car, then he'll have to pay to fix it.

If you have his insurance contact info, go that route and get estimates from body shops. Tell them you need a rental, and you will get one. Otherwise you are screwed because you can't get into a body shop until Tuesday.

If it's too bad, hope it's totaled and that you get enough out of his insurance to replace your car.

I can't do anything until monday anyway. His insurance isn't open until then (hopefully). I dialed their claim number which is SUPPOSED to be 24/7 but get an error when i hit the number for the extension, which say the call is long distance and I must dial a one before it (which I can not do because it's a prerecording that asks you to hit the number 4 to reach the extension).

Hopefully the shop will be open on Monday. Here in FL, memorial day= big car sales.
