No heat, no AC, No defrost/defog??
Hey all, I guess I'm a newb. So I guess I have a newb question.
I have a problem, and I'm looking to all of you for help if you would be so kind.
I turn on my heat or AC or defrost (anything that uses the blower) and it doesnt blow.... which.. ironically... BLOWS!
I've seen a few posts about replacing a "resistor pack" that sits under the drivers side panel uunder the steering wheel. I'm wondering if this is the problem. The posts I've seen indicate this is a common amongst E36's with the "dial controls" and mine doesnt have those controls, I have the computer one with the buttons.
Most of the posts I've seen say something like, "My A/C only works on 4, but not 1,2 or 3" and mine doesnt work like that, there's no 1,2,3,4.
It's a 1996 328i sedan.
Hope someone can help (and I hope it's not the blower motor)
p.s are we allowed to post links to our car pics if they're on another car website like "___domain.com?" I dont know so I didnt post the link, but I'd like to show it if I can.

does the AC computer light up and everything? does it look like it should work, but it just doesnt blow any air? If so, it might be a blown motor. If the computer doesnt always work, and turns on and off intermittently, then its a bad capacitor in your AC computer which is a really easy fix.
I also recommend checking your fuses.

Spieluhr: The computer is always on and the blower never blows. Ans yes, I've checked the fuses, they're all good. blower motors dont usually just "go" do they? Dont they usually slow down, get old and just get worn out before they "go"?
Celsdogg: Nope, we never found out who vandalized it. I live in the city and they're always gonna be punk kids prowling the streets, know what I mean? Luckily, Geico covered all $4,600.00 in damages. And the new front and rear glass and new paint look AMAZING!
when it isnt working(if it doesnt work in the future) i would suggest looking at a wiring diagram and testing for resistance between all the connections, to determine if there are wires that arent exactly connected or what not...
