Rear axles Semi vs multi link

Hi everyone, I'm new here.

I heard that the e36 compact had a e30 rear semi-trailing axle instead of the newer Z multi link. Is there any significant difference?

There is not a huge difference. The semi trailing arm results in slightly less than ideal tire angles to the road when compressed, like heavy loaded and hard cornering. Multi link is a bit better, but few drivers would ever really notice it IMO

ok, so is there a big difference between a compact and say a 318 or 325 coupe...despite the lower price of the compact
