my best guess is that it would be your blower resistor, a common problem

Try a search for "resistor pack". There is probably a DIY on it somewhere here. It is a common problem on older E36's,

My blower is just weak. It works on all settings. Would replacing the blower resister help in this situation also?

nah the resistor is what controlls the settings when that goes it will work however only on certian settings. If yours is blowing weak might possibly be the blower but not shure ......
good luck

if it's just not pushing a lot of air through the vents, your cabin filter is probably old and nasty. A replacement of that should do the trick.
