E36General discussion and technical help for (E36) 1992-1999 3 series cars. 318, 323, 325, 328.
^^^You must have bought their last one on special; they're selling them at $144 now. Oh well. tomctx, I don't know why they don't list my year E36 for that $139 special. At any rate, I got it from Autohauz because they had other stuff I also wanted to get.
Weird. You should try to PM CMUZYY on AIM and see if he can hook you up. Mention that you found the BFC GB thingy and he may lower the price. 144 for a Behr radiator is really good though. Also, The Behr works for all E36, they are all identical.

Sucks that it happened to you, but glad you caught it in time. This is one of those sneaky things that will catch up to you if you are not careful.
Everyone if you havn't checked your radiator do it today! they have a lifespan of about 5 years. After that the plastic gets old and brittle and it can fail in a number of ways.

No biggie. They are all within a few dollars of each other. The main thing is, you haven't suffered any engine problems. My radiator was replaced just before I bought it, hopefully it will last for a while.

Common problem for the E36.. At least You weren't going to N.Y. on the Penn tpke. racing a vr6 when the collar broke...I was....My E36 took me home though, I clamped the collar with 2 screw clamps, bled the system, filled up my radiator and kept it under 55mph.........oh yeah for the record, the VR6 was not ready for my '93 3.25.

I wish I could have done that, but there wasn't much of a collar left to clamp on to. You can't see it from my pics, but the bottom part of it was completely gone. Plus, I found out later that the ICV was pretty flooded with coolant, don't know how it got in there. If I tried to run her, the damage could have gotten worse.
Yea, she's been running like a top since last Wed, I installed a new Nissens radiator, thankfully the thermostat didn't get fried. I just didn't get around to cleaning the engine compartment till the weekend
