MPerformance is doing a group buy on the JT-Designs Underbody Panel for the 1992-1999 E36 models.

Its crafted from 6061-T6 anodized aluminum, this panel will definitely be the last one you will ever need to buy. The underpanel is designed to fit directly into the original factory holes located on the bottom of the E-36 front spoiler. Because it attaches to the front spoiler, direct contact with a curb or a cone will result in equal movement between the spoiler and panel. Opposed to the plastic factory panels attached to the chassis, which makes them much more rigged and susceptible to braking. This panel is the ultimate in shielding road debris and the elements of inclimatic weather from corroding vital engine parts. Performance enthusiast will appreciate the flat panel's ability to accelerate airflow underneath the spoiler. This accelerated airflow creates a low-pressure area under the spoiler, most commonly known as 'Downforce'. Self-installation will take about an hour. One less component to worry about will last a lifetime.

Whats the advantage of havng something like that? Is it for incase u bottom out the front accedantaly or something?

your current bumper comes with something similar to it but it's in 3 parts, they call them pork chops. It basicly protects your engine from road debris... I want one so that I would reduce the chance of hydrocloating my intake... And since my/our bumpers are getting here soon, I'll need one of those pretty soon too.

I checked turner, they don't have it....

ok.... i kinda understand. But i take it its not something vital for the bumper is it? If theres a good enough reason ill consider getting one.

well... let's say that you'r driving in a road adn you drive over something and it get caught in fan..... that would stop those things... No, it's not vital, but it's not bad either

Main reason am getting it is so that less water would get around my intake in cold weather...

The second u said that i rembered i live in Canada. I should prbably get one then, mostly since i will be driving the BMW in the winter. if its not to expensive ill consider it. So far it seems like a good idea, espesially with the all the rain weve had latley.

one of my pork chops is missing, so I could just get that to replace it? I hope it's not too heavy because the bottom of my bumper is cracked a little.
