I was all excited 'coz I've had this car for over a year now, and didn't know that. Is it only for certain years, or is mine broken, or what??
"Dski", go all the way to the "double lock" position on your car & hold it. Mine does it with the door lock remote too.

And while you are having that done, include the fan delete from understeer.com. You don't need the aluminum thermostat housing because the 92's came with them.

And lastly, make sure you don't have any battery problems. Try and find out when the last time it got a new battery.

Buuut, if you're having problems, just take it to your local dealership and they'll take good care of you.
They'll tell you the history, problems, and things you need to tune up the bimmer.

Btw, some questions....

How many miles does it have?
What color is it?
Is it a manual?
AND, lastly....do you have some pictures?

Welcome and have fun here!

Yeah, that's what I did, and I held it for about 45sec. I guess it's either broken or not available in the 92's.

It works on my 94... I was under the impression it worked for all e36's. The sunroof will close on 96+ I believe.

I just ran out to my car because I was so excited to try it and it didn't work on my driver door.

But then it hit me, try it on the passenger door and bam, it worked. Dudesky, try it on the passenger door, it might work for you too.

I have had my car for more that 2 year and I didn't know this trick, you guys made my night!!

Oh, and my sunroof didn't close, it's a 95' 325i so it probably was the '96 328i,is that they probably started that.

Nope, doesn't work. Tried it on both doors, even on the trunk lock. I wish I knew what I was looking for to find out if this car is supposed to do that. Oh well . . .

May. . . borderline to the changes in 6/92. I never know what was what in this car, like the struts require the ones for 6/92 on up, learned that the hard way

the trunk lock does not activate the windows, or the sunroof, or the convertible top. The door windows will and in my case also close my top but it does take about 30 seconds so you have to stand there with the key turned to get it to close. When I upgrade the alarm it should also close my top.
