I don't have the wheels. . . . yet.
I was thinking of buying these:
He's asking 700 but I can probably chew him down to 550 w/the tires included.

Do you think 550 is a good price? what if he only drops to 6? Thanks.

oh, good point nick, make sure the offset is the same, i am pretty sure it is the same(i had e46 330 wheels on my car).. but just try to be safe. How good condition are they in? if they are good condition, i think 6 is reasonable, and are they original from factory or replicas? nevertheless, good luck w/the sale

The rear wheels will not fit correctly. E46 330 =/= E46 M3.

I've seen e36s with e46 M3 wheels.
You shouldn't have a problem.

Thanks gang.
And Donald, if what you say is true, what will be the issue w/them? What sort of adjustments will be needed? Thanks in advance.

The rears will not fit on your car.
The offset is incorrect, the e46 M3 has a widebody to accomodate this offset which your car does not have..
All e36 M3 rims will fit your car, or 4 front e46 M3 rims will too..
IMHO the stock e46 M3 rims are not all that desirable.. there are plenty better looking wheels out there.

So as long as they are not staggered, which I assume xsperf's, weren't it should fit? Or 4 front rims.

Xsperf's were probably replicas.
those wheels will probably not fit your car if they were previously on an M3. As stated the offset is not correct. You need to get replicas in order for them to fit properly.

As previously stated, you need 4 front e46 m3 wheels.
