well I'm doing the whole thing myself... all I'm paying for is the parts. And I'll tell you what I got 180,xxx + but then again I'm doing some serious work since I've overheated and my alternator was about to go....

new OE 140 amp alternator
new radiator
UUC pullies
S50 Cams
new head gasket(s)
Fuel injectors cleaned, balanced and calibrated

my wife gonna kill me when she sees how much I've spent... then I'll show her how much I've saved in labor... then I'll go spend what I've saved . Imma bout to reach the $1k mark give or take $100.

I was going to do a M50 TB and Intake mani, but I don't see that mani bolting up just like that without some mods to it. My many has alot more shit than just 3 holes... that tranny swap is not till next summer anyways but we'll get there.
After that tranny swap the car is going to go thru some nice mods exhaust set up, either a Turbo or Surpercharger dunno yet... Turbo is hella cheaper. Interior, and finnally wheels.

Turbo isn't necessarily a lot cheaper man, I heard about a good priced VF engineering supercharger.

Schrick cams are tuned S50 cams, which work with the m50, m52, s50, and s52. So, the S50 WILL work in an M52, or even an S52. Now, the M52 and S52 cams will NOT work in an M50 or S50, because they have a counter balance on them which prevents them from going in.

As for your intake manifold setup, you need to reuse the M52 throttle body, because of OBDII and the different setup provided with it. The TB should bolt up exactly like before. The only reason of going with an M50/OBDI manifold is if you did an OBDI conversion, which isn't recommended unless you drop an engine into an early OBDI car, or for racing purposes.

Isn't that what we were saying when you said they won't work?

Well, I was always told to stick with S52 to M52 and S50 to M50 cams. I will probably always stick to it, but if the S50 cams work for you, then more power to you.

Ummm, I was going to say...something about checking the radiator....buuuuuuut you are already getting a new one. So that obviously isn't the problem.

I've seen it on an e36 M3, just makin' sure.

Sounds like TONS of fun. Don't hurt yourself.

If you are going to do this, I would suggest an Eurosport kit, or at least partial kit...http://www.eurosporthighperformance.com/cam_kits.html

Talk to these guys and see what they say
