E36 Overheating.

Hi All,

Been busy with work and hence not quite active. Further, have managed to drop my lady and change to 18 inchers. I shall post the pics in a day or two.

But first, my lady nearly touched the red zone in the temp guage. Any inputs for me to check...? Cheers..

Start with belt tension, (slipping fan belt turns waterpump slower) if that's ok consider changing waterpump, thermostat & doing a coolant flush also check for water in the oil - could be head gasket (right Rooz?)

Thanks all for your inputs. Had to take afternoon off.

This is what happend....

1. Water Pump broke down (Original Stock since 1997)
2. Thermostat Housing Cracked (Stock)

So had to get all these, New Water Pump, Thermostat housing, Housing Gasket and New Coolants....all from the local Bimmer Dealer.

Funny thing is ...all of em cost less than the OEM parts..he he he..

Thanks all....me lady is back in the mid zone...

Sometimes bringing it to specialist can be scary. They can trick you by taking out the good ones and replace it with the bad ones. You go back there to fix the problem and they just replace back your original parts.

I was recommend at the Chua Automobilesby the Amedeo Mechanics( Gadong near /above Just toys) but they are bit pricey...
