'95 325i, Supercharger question
Hello guys, good to see UB growing and Komodo is well and around. It was some time since I was here. Good to be back
I've got myself a Vortech supercharger (w/Dinan frame plate) some while ago. I know, such question might sound a little bold, but how hard is it to install this thing on my car and what parts, beside Super itself, should I look for. I will do all this job by myself (exept chip of course) so any input from you fellows would be greatly welcomed.
Here is some pics of my babe:

Well right off the bat you obviously need the intake, all piping, hoses, belts of your choice, aftercooler/oil cooler, injectors and software.

Looks like you ripped it out of a junk yard car, from the way the hoses are cut and all.

you are probably going to need to gather parts like these that Active Autowerke includes in their kits...
id go to their website and find out what EXACTLY they give their customers in their kits

Thank you guys for all the replies. No, I didnt rip it out of the junk yard, I would say it was some very nice deal from the person I know. I cant afford to pay anywhere close to $5K for the kit from reputable company, so after the calculations we figured that buying it by pieces would be A LOT cheaper. Took me some time to find this one and its not so bad considering its a Vortech made for Dinan. There is not much story to tell about this babe, except that it was on the same year M3. Regarding the hose, well, the guy didnt have a screwdriver at hand so he just cut it out (brutal but hey, it worked at that moment). Now I am trying to find any possible info on how to install and setup this SC. Any DIY or something like this would help. This is not the first time I do something on my car myself, so I am pretty sure if I had some sort of supporting materials I would figure out how to do it. I just say that doing things like this on my car gives me as much pleasure as driving it.

Avlany, nice to see you back again. Now don't disappear on us this time.
I'd suggest calling up AA Tuning or some other companies that sell s/c kits, and ask them how much it would cost for everything EXCEPT the s/c. They'd probably cut you a deal and you'd be sure you didn't miss anything.
Let us know how it goes!

Call up all supercharger companies and ask them for a list of components to their supercharger kits. Chances are dinan won't give you this. I'd ask on the bimmerforums FI section for a list of components along with instructions. Somebody should have them.

in all honesty i would just sell the super charger and buy a turbo. in the end you will be much more satisfied with a turbo. i bet you are not going to get that completed cheaper than it would be to buy a kit.

I will , And no, I had a turbo which is not what I need. Turbo kicks in at certain RPMs, while Super is constant power. I used to drive both and i fall in love with supercharged bimmer.
