Unhappy Crazy Week. 1st E36 Carwash Drama then Park and Run!!!

So Thursday I took my car in for the yearly maintenance (oil, fluids, etc...) and usually I get offered a complimentary carwash which I always reject.

But this time the guys were gonna be long with servicing my fluids...esp. my Power Steering fluid which needed to be flushed because it was very very low and the residue burnt and left ash in the tank (yeah... )

So I told the guys I was gonna to McDonalds to get lunch and I'll be back...anyway 30 minutes later I came back and find that they finished my car and took it through the wash as though I'd asked for it...

Anyway my car was DEAD. Apparently the mechanic said my car's DME (car's computer) stash box was flooded and soapy which , according to the same prick that drove my car into the freaking wash, is a main symptom of passing E36 thru an auto wash....\

My car came out the wash dead and the freaking towel guys pushed it out all the way, dried it off, armor-alled the tires and left it sitting there dead when I came back.

....I was so pissed! But the owner told me that I was liable because I paid for full car service before hand and that included the complimentary wash by me paying first (before I left for McDonalds)and not saying I didn't want the wash...I implied that I wanted a wash so they washed it...He also showed me a sign above the registered that reiterated this policy!

Then the same mech who put my car in the wash turned around and charged me 20$ for him to take it out drain it (water was literally pouring out of it) and dry it off...something I could have done myself if I'd seen it before!
(by the way...in the process of removing and replacing the DME he broke the rubber seal that houses the wires going to the DME, cracked the protective isulation foam, did not replace the o rings and lost them, and somehow in the process my radiatior fastener clips (that holds my radiation in place) broke completely off)....

I was shocked my car even worked again...

Also the Automatic-CarWash broke both my kidney grills so they no longer stay clipped in but they swing down and up, and my drivers side mirror is all fucked up somehow...because it makes objects look like funhouse mirror reflections and the motorized controls don't adjust all the way anymore....all these things the owner says he's not liable for......

My luck continued to sink even LOWER!!!

Now last light I drive into NYC for my friend's Bachelor party and I parked my car at around 10pm down a well lit side street behind , but not too-close-to, a silver-grey BMW X5...

I left the titty bar/club very happy and buzzed around 3am drove home.

This morning I wake up, go outside to do errands and I realize, as I open the gates to my driveway, that my front kidney grills are all lop sided and falling off because my nose panel is smushed in and dented up right between the grills and my hood is folded in from a 8 inch long dent right below the BMW emblem.

I WENT BEZERK in my driveway for 2 or 4 minutes!!!!!!

Then I remember the BMW X5 was no longer there at 3am when I got my car...

FCUKING X5!!!!!

Anyway...what a messed up week....

Now the $500 I was going to spend this upcoming week to get my sideskirts paint matched and re-paint my rear bumper&trunk lid...is gonna have to go for a new nose panel, grills, probably fixing or replacing the hood!!!!!

Not to mention I gotta properly reseal my DME stash box so at least rain dont get in. So that means a pricey visit to the dealership for parts!

pictures coming soon!

UPDATE:

I managed to hammer out the dent on my nosepanel...it's still al little lumpy..but I don't need to replace it...but may spend like $30-$50 to hammer it out smoother. There was no paint damage either...I aslo got the grills back in and the clips seem to be holding.
The hood is still dented and the upper paint surface or clearcoat surface seems to be cracked and flaking off....I'm not sure about that...may $100 to fix (?) if I don't have to replace the hood.

yeah I may actually go in and take out my DME again to make sure that all the rubber seals are still in place...I mean, He literally ripped it out and next thing you know there is like rubber rings and foam chippings all over the place...I was like Dude WTF!!!! I can replace the DME if I have to but I don't want to have to replace 20 extra pieces of wires, plugs and seals that you're ripping out...

The he gave me the classic "Stealership-Lecture" that a DME cost $584 at BMW Dealership to fix or replace.

I was like yeah...but At least they are tidy with their work...

HE also wrapped the DME box in "THANK YOU" plastic grocery bags as a fail-safe to prevent future water from getting in (WTF indeed)..before he replaced into the DME chamber....I've already aranged for the BMW dealership to replace all the seals and insulation pieces around the DME area...and I'm taking off that nasty plastic bag....

does that sound smart BTW????

I'm less pissed off about the mechanic/carwash situation than the X5 that dented my grill/hood and left. Now that is really gonna cost me...and my poor car looks horrible in the meantime....

I hate SUVs so much...who would think a BMW driver would do that to another BMW driver....

I'm thinking just replace the nosepanel entirely with the 97 grill style.... (the panel is about $90 -$120 with the grills) and maybey $50 to $100 to paint and put on.
