Change your waterpumps!

If your car has had the original waterpump... change it guys... the plastic ones suck!

For example:

Yours isnt even that bad. Ive had to replace some that the only thing left of the plastic turbine is the metal rod going through the middle of it.

Dude, that's yours in the pic? OMG- you never changed it?! That's BMW 101 . . change the wp as soon as you buy the car!!! BTW, get the composite one, the metal ones aren't much better.

Fairly easy if you hare mechanically inclined..

Didn't do a DIY because I was in a hurry, and I couldn't really take my time either because I was at my dad's place...

Only real trick you need to know to get it out is to use the 2 10mm bolts that you unscrew from the engine bracket and thermostat to push out the wp. Other then that, and getting the fan off, hopefully that you have a 32mm wrench its very easy to do.

I'd do it for ya. It's pretty easy, hell, I'd just sit by and watch you do it. I like that idea better.

But I think we should have our own writeup for the KB. I did mine last year, and it took me longer to put the new one on than remove the old one; it's a pretty tight fit with the new o-ring seal. Luckily (as mentioned on Top Gear) BMW pushed the engine back as far as they could, so there's a lot of room to work up front where the pump is . . so much easier than other cars.
