vanos noise
when the car is running it makes a noise in the vanos area as if the chain is loose its kind of like a metal sound the car dont idle roughly the rpm needle is steady dont seem like i`m loosing power. do all of them make that noise or this is something i should be concerned with.
any help would be appreciated
Depends on your mileage. First try a good oil change to a 10w-30 or 10w -40 & a quality brand. If that doesn't cure it there's a BMW update.
(the update enclosed is for the E34 but it applies to all vanos units)
yea, oil change is usually the first thing, it may be because there is no oil thats going to the vanos unit(around that area).. thats why sometimes it only does it when the car is cold, and if an oil chagne doesnt do it, its still usually no big deal
