Glad you like it lol. Its definitley handy to have it. I have a PDF copy on my iPhone just in case im working on someone elses car.
As for tools, I use a standard socket and wrench set and that works for most bolts. You should invest in a set of Torx head sockets as the E36 has numerous Torx bolts featured throughout. The Oil Filter cap is a 36mm socket. If you do your brakes, you will need a 6mm and 7mm Allan head socket. One for the caliper guide pins, the other for the rotor set screw.
If you plan on lowering your E36 make sure you get one of these:

A standard floor jack wont fit under a lowered E36, so unless you have a Low Profile jack, this is invaluable.
I bought this off ebay for $15. It does the exact same thing the Peake Research tool does, but for way cheaper. Absolutley worth it as it saves a trip to the dealer to reset your oil service light.
