it is a .82 ar gt35r

i dont know what this project is going to cost in the end but it will not be cheap. so far i have spent about $3200 us and all i have is the turbo and stand alone ecu i will prob need a new clutch and maybe a diff rebuild so that will add to the costs. hopefully i will be able to sell some of my parts that i will not need any more (hint hint for anybody interested in a few months ) this kit should be way better than anything i could have purchased

0.82 a/r

The next expensive cost is tuning. That'll get pricey. Other than that youve got the majority is the items. Any idea on which manifold you are going to go with? PM techno550 on bimmerforums, he makes some real nice turbo manifold and they are pretty cheap too. Piping can be doen custom pretty cheap so you shouldnt expect to spend too much more. Then intercooler. I guess since youve got a 0.82 you'll probably do some compression changing aswell. Looks like youve got quite a project ahead of you. Now go buy me a tec3

well there are a few expensive things left to get such as: data logging wide band o2 sensor, intercooler, manifold, electronic boost controller, 3 inch turbo exhast, down pipe and all other piping. then there are other things that will add up like the blow off valve, waste gate, and all kinds of fittings and lines. then i will prob need a new clutch. not sure if i will see if my sachs performance clutch will be able to handle the power for a bit or just go and buy a better one right away. might also need to rebuild my diff or get a better one. not sure yet if i will drop compression right away. i can prob run about 9psi on stock compression. i know a bmw mechanic that owes me a few favors, maybe i could get him to do the head gasket for cheap : with a data logging wide band o2 sensor vic at sias tuning said he could give me a pretty good base map to work with. i think that should reduce the cost of tuning considerably, but i still have to drive 3 hours to the tuner not sure what manifold i will go with. i am in no rush to pick one up. i will see what comes up in the classifieds on various forums and will consider techno555's manifold. as far as i know his group buy has not gone through yet. if nothing comes up the guy building th kits said he could build a manifold for a few hundred dollars out of stainless steel. so far i am jsut at the beggining stage of getting this project going. the fun stuff is still to come

i know highboostingm3's manifold cost about $2500 but that was a top mount. my guy is basing an estimated cost of around $400 based on previous experience building turbo manifolds for 4 bangers. there is nothing tough about building a log style manifold. an aa manifold is about $1500 and the boost logic is around $2000 i think. the boost logic is a good tubular manifold but the aa log style one is way over priced. i am just going to keep a look out for used manifolds or consider techno's manifolds.

Yeah Cameron got his top mounted. He also has to relocated a lot of items and I believe he had to cut away or dent up his shock tower for it to fit.

Boostlogic's manifold is like $650 if I recall.

Oh I remember, techno's manifold is by SPA. He helped engineer it and it's a good looking piece. And on top of that it already has the wastegate flange on it. It used to be in the $425 - $450 range if I rememebr correctly. PM techno about that.

I ordered my new intercooler but that was 4 weeks ago -_- I think im just goign to cacel that order and pick up a good intercooler off fleabay for stupid cheap. From other peopl's experience they actually work extremmely well. For $200 I think it's worth a shot.
