E36General discussion and technical help for (E36) 1992-1999 3 series cars. 318, 323, 325, 328.
What about that old saying of "all show and no go" though
nmo such thing in a BMW...plus u got the e30 if someone questions ur ownage.
maybe a compromise...save up a little money and do both at the same time?
edit**
ok i was thinking about it...do the turbo. Your paint job is never gonna stay perfect, i mean the day after u get it some idiot may roll a shopping cart into the car(not saying itll happen but it could). On the other hand the turbo, well thatll last u a while without any problems, atleast i would hope.
GO Turbo.

I would paint first. It's already nice and fast, and while faster is better, a pretty car is always nice. Now if you had a mechanical problem I would fix that first and then deal with the pretty but It sounds like everything is mechanically sound.

ok, James first off i think you are nuts for saying "all show, no go", because your car is already pretty damn fast w/o FI. Granted you will enjoy every minute of that turbo, you will want to stab someone every time you see your car from the outside and see all the shit wrong with it, which will only get worse.
Paint that baby.
