Pin Stripe delete

Anyone take off their pin stripe. I don't think mine looks good and was wondering how to take it off. I sure it will just peel off but will there be stuff under it on the paint, and how do I get that off?

You can use "goof off" from home depot. Works like a charm and won't hurt paint.

There shouldn't be any residue if you use a heat gun while peeling off the stripe.

Alot of dealers had detailers & painters come in and add them. (paint and /or tape) Mine had grey painted stripes but that was first delete when I got it home.

Mine was on it when I got it. My dad doesn't want me to take it off cause he thinks the paint under it will be a different color so I'm just going to get a friend of his who works in a body shop to do it for me.

Buffing should get it off, that's how I get rid of the dealership crap on the back of my cars. and even if it is a different color under it from sun fade it should be close enough that you might not notice.

I don't know if your car is too old, but on my car I was going to take off my pinstripes, but I asked a guy I know who owns an auto painting shop, and he said that if I take it off, and were to get my car repainted (which I am in a month or 2) it would mess up the paint and would be like taking a layer off of it, so im not too sure.

I agree on the heat gun works like a charm for pin stripes and stickers. If there is any residue left over WD 40 will take off the goop without hurting the paint. If the paint is in good condition then there won't probably be much difference with the paint underneath the pin stripe. If there's some slightness to it then it will probably polish out.

You can always use detailing clay to take off residue. That's what high end body shops use for overspray and small imperfections.
