Question Piston upgrade?

Going by the fact that I probably have a bad piston, and that I might have to replace it, was wondering if I could just upgrade all of them at once to some more performance driven pistons. Anyone know of any?

As used in their high performance cars.

if you buy all 6 pistons, it will cost you, now, if your giong to turbo your car, you might as well do all the internals now and worry about the turbo later, but if your just driving your car normally, i dont see the reason why you should upgrade

How the heck can you get a price for pistons on that site?

what do you precisely mean by "ALL" internals?

pistons, rings, roads, and you may even bore them out, but then again now that i think of it, you might as well replace ALL your rings b/c you dont want to be opening your engine up again

Yeah, I mean, I really don't mind replacing all my rings and pistons now, just a question of finding some nice performance ones...

if you are going to go turbo just get low compression pistons. most people seem to like JE pistons.

Low compression on a bimmer isnt very fun to drive until you get the turbo...and i wouldnt recommend a turbo for an automatic car.

For the money just swap your m52 w/ an s52 (that has a manual transmission attached to it).

But seriously, if you are looking for piston upgrades, pull the engine, strip the block have it bored to 86.4mm and replace your m52 crank, rods, pistons, and rings w/ s52 parts. Swap in your m3 cams, Contact AA Tuning about the 800.00 custom software, and for God's sake fit a manual tranny to the motor before you reinstall it.

I think before you consider pistons you should consider adding another pedal.

Let me know if you need more info on the m52/s52 parts swap.

ok, who can't read here?

Let me put it in simple terms....

One piston is bad = Needs to be replaced = would make sense to upgrade at same time for performance = Where to find a piston to upgrade to?

Never mentioned a bad tranny or a need for a turbo on this thread.....

not sure what kind of piston would increase performance. maybe one that would raise the compression ratio

It would probably be cheaper to s50 the car than to buy all new custom pistons.

It would make more sense too..
