Replace your Microfilter! - United Bimmer Community

In light of the cold season and my pussy cabin fan I decided to replace my microfilter. After 20 minutes of swearing and getting pinched and swearing some more I got the new one in and man what a difference! The fan blows with much more power now, and the heater and air conditioning are more noticeable. It made the ride much more enjoyable.

Isn't funny how such simple things can be a pain in the ass to access and remove. Sometimes I love BMW engineering. Hey any news about UW?

I may do it today. We will have good weather today and tomorrow, maybe even up to 60 degrees -- woot! I have had my replacement microfilter waiting for about two months now.

Thanks for the reminder, I don't know when it was last replaced so that means do it soon.

They're like $20. I think I paid $24 for mine, now if it would only install itself....

heh, it's not that bad of an install on an e36, just takes patience. Maybe a few beers too.

Mine isn't that bad either, it's just the Bentley Bibles' explanation makes it sound like a labotomy. "Pull glovebox, remove trim, rip out carpet, stab yourself with screw driver multiple times so cuts due to duct work aren't as severe, blame God 3 times, remove 2 phillips screws and lightly pull... installation is the reverse"

on the reverse do you unstab yourself 3 times or stab yourself 3 more times
