It's a stand-alone fuel management system I think that will allow him to completely custom tune his ECU to work with whatever he puts in his car. He can plug in his laptop and remap everything. It is essential some times for guys that go the custom F/I route.

Spieluhr answered this one pretty well. it is a stand alone ecu that will replace the factory obd2 ecu and allow me to custom tune the maps for my turbo project i plan to start next spring. just unplug the stock ecu and plug this one in. no hacking up the wiring harness, it is plug and play best of all vic at sias tuning can give me a pretty good base map to start with and then do remote tunes to get everything right. i decided to go with the tec3 because i can learn to tune it myself and it would not be very practical to do an obd1 conversion or ship my car to aa or nick g for a custom obd2 tune. the tec3 allows every engine functgion to be reprogrammed exactly as you want it.

any turbo would sound good to me man.

as long as you do it right, which if you buy an ECU like that, I think you will, upgrading your internals and everything I mean.

Be caeful. Out of all the tuners, imwilling to bet only 1% can do it well. Id let someone well known tune it for you. Im thinking of going haltech6x myself.

i will get a good base map from vic. he said he can then tweak it as long as i have a data logging wideband o2. i was looking at the haltech but one big thing for me is that it is not plug and play, and that it can not run the stock coils. but both are great systems.

Used is still expensive.

With my haltech i dont plan on dong my own tuning. I know u cud do basemaps. but id still get all the dynos and widebands done and then hand this info over to a proper tuner. I know of two places that I am considering my tuning for. One is EF1 and the other is Technik. Both near my location.

It must suck not havign any good tuners near you.
