E36General discussion and technical help for (E36) 1992-1999 3 series cars. 318, 323, 325, 328.
but...it seem like normal condensation and I drove after I saw the leakage and I had the heat on blast with the outside vents closed and I had no condensation anywhere.
Usually when it rains, or it is really cold, or damp/dewy in the mornings my windows fog up with just the heat on and not the defroster..
Isn't that normal?
I'm thinking one of the minor and most distance of the hoses/gaskets from the core may be leaking.
but how long? and why only now would it appear in the cabin like that?
That looked like a really slow dribbling leak.
For a system that is closed and under pressure, I would expect more of a gushing out of coolant. I've seen blown coolant hoses before and that green stuff is usually steaming and squirting out like arterial blood from a gunshot wound to the head.
1st of all, is your engine overheating the slightest bit? even though it really doesnt have a reason to as it isnt leaking that much, and secondly, spieluhr, a blocked up condensor? the only condensor i know of in the car is the AC condensor... is that what your talking about?

That's what's odd...
1. My engine does not overheat at all.
If anything it's running perfect temperatures.
Even now after the leak.
2. Also my heat does not not give off any odors whatsoever.
And that is something I would know right away.
3. My heat works well, I get hot air when I turn up the heat, warm air when I turn down the heat, cool air when I turn off the heat, cold air when I turn on the AC. Everything is working fine as of this minute. Even after the leak. I may just wait until I get back to NYC to take it in to my friend's shop.
Yeah, I just checked my coolant tank with a long skewer dipstick, after it dawned on me that if the system is leaking then my coolant would be low.
My coolant was incredibly low...about 1-2 inches deep.
Then again the car's engine is cold. Yesterday after I saw the stains, I visually checked my coolant and saw it was a little low but still I could see it was much higher-about hafway up the tank.
It hasn't leaked into the cabin since that first time (if is it coolant) nor do I see a puddle under the car or under the engine bay.
