High performance Ignition coils - United Bimmer Community

Am thinking of getting these for my car:

any comments? If I do buy them it would be before the end of this month

hmm.. increase compression?

if you wanna get those, get new spark plugs too, oh and while your at it, new injectors

"R"zzzzz, You'ld only notice minimal perf gains. You'ld have more response at startup, cleaner "burns" and less chance of fuel fouling but save your cash. Your factory units are pretty damn good to start with. Put one of these

like leh' c1apton said, minimal gains. just a more stable ride. for the money, do it if you want, why don't you save for that SMG, it's gonna cost you your wallet.

I just figured with all the extra air flow my car will have by january (when I have the appointment to get cams slapped in) some stronger ignition coils wouldn't hurt

from what i have heard high performance ignition coild are a waste of money. i have the m3 cams and everything works fine the way it is. save your money or get something more useful.

I'ld wait until you do the air mod first, then read the plugs. If they look like they're loading up then go for it.

I've heard someone on another forum dynoed his car, bought them for > $1,000, installed them, and dynoed again. He gained 2hp and 1torque, haha. They might be benificial if you're turboed (but not needed still), however for a NA setup, they don't really do anything.

^^ Dude if ur getting em for $350 maybe then it may be worth it.Any thing more ant its not.

B_w, do u have an M50 manifold as well or just M3 cams?
