Might be the sensor magnet. If so, you have to open up the door panel and pull out the motor. There's a magnet that is attached to the motor shaft that gets misaligned, just push it back to where it's supposed to be. I'm told that on sedans, you don't have to open up the motor casing, but on coupes you do. Photo shows correct position:

where do u learn about this stuff?

I thought the thread was about a bug on his windshield when i first read it. anyone know of one touch E30 mod?

I've retained a lot of crap in my head over the last year, doing searches for things and fixes. This is a common problem though. E30 windows don't one-touch? I didn't know that. Maybe try something with this gadget?
