OK, update:

About a week or so ago, I had the stealership change out the all seconday air pump system (was about a $500 hit to the nuts)

And the week before that they had changed my PCV vavle along with all the tubing that relate to my intake. (that too was about a $500 to the nuts)

And I have to say, now the car runs AMAZING, gas mileage is great, power at lower RPMS slaps me to the seat. The car just runs like it's a brand new engine - and by now will the work I had done on the head and what not, it kind of is....

So I don't know anymore, the car is running so great, I feel bad wanting to sell it now, so I just don't know anymore

I mean that right there was 1k, figure with the bill from the machine shop,t he two new pistons and all that that's another 1k give or take, and like with the new thermostat, and the water pump + BMW battery, that's what ~ $400.

So, yeah just spent about $2.5k turning the engine to like new...

I mean I just really don't know anymore.... it's either sell this car, and get the 330 and start from scratch, OR...... tranny swap + install all the stuff I have laying around (cams, manifold, pipes, x brace, brakes...... and do some other minor stuff and be done with this one)

you really felt that much of a difference from changing out the secondary air pump? That doesnt really make sense cause it just pumps air into the exhaust manifold so that the cats can run better at cold start up, I just dont see how that affects performance?

if the o2 sensor(i dont know if rooz has trackpipes) senses that the mixture is too rich, it may make the air fuel ratio very lean, who knows, cars are very inter related these days

I didn't either, I was having a slight bit of a rough idle, but didn't even think the car would run that great afterwards!

I do, but they aren't on the car just yet

Rooz, I have the problem with the air pump and valve. My check engine light has not come on yet, but my car makes a terrible noise in the morning or on cold start. I bought the air pump and valve from Bav auto and it cost, $350 for the parts. They are in route now. The install doesn't seem too bad. I will undertake it in two weeks along with the thermostat, waterpump and fuel filte.

I have a buddy with a 330ci with coilovers, wheels, and other mods. It has high mileage. I think it has 85K but it was been well taken care of. As a matter of fact, I think it is his mom's daily driver. Let me know if you want me to get more info.

If you are going FI, I recommend staying with the M52 and a turbo setup like Andreas(Card Counter). He is pulling 635rwhp /w stock internals and just ARP studs and a thicker headgasket. I like the thick cylinder wall padding with the M50 and M52 compared to the S50 and S52 IMO.

As for the secondary air system, delete that biatch. I don't have it in my car, so I am pretty sure you don't need it in yours. Get a simulator for it.

could pay 150 at AA for a simulator.

And I think one reason he would wanna sell it instead of going turbo set-up is he doesnt want to worry about an auto to manual swap.
