E36General discussion and technical help for (E36) 1992-1999 3 series cars. 318, 323, 325, 328.
I would be looking around for a 3.15 this xmas, but i think i may need a new tranny and i would like a new clutch, so thats going to come before a new diff.. heh.
I'll say a prayer for you guys w/Open diffs. LSD is the only way to go for the best of both worlds. Especially you guys with the high HPs and aero pkges. Open diffs are like shooting pool with a rope

Okay, I was told, if the tires spin in the same direction, you have limited slip. I do know that if your BMW has an LSD, the differential case will have a "S" stamped on the housing near the top of the case. May be hard to see with the diff in the car, though.
