99 mph in a 55
 

Just after telling one of my friends this morning how long it's been since I've gotten a ticket...... I got nailed on my way home this afternoon


It was raining and I was stuck behind a van on a 2lane highway east of platteville,wi....... the mist coming off the van was making it hard for me to see..... so I slowed,backed off to see if I would be able to pass..... I gunned it.. just as I got in front of him a ways... I noticed a crown vic ahead in the ditch on the opposite side of the road and about shat myself

obviously, he pulled me over and wrote me a ticket 99 in a 55... since my record is fairly clean now my ticket was only worth 6pts and $341 plus 30 day license suspension

the deputy was pretty cool though; very very polite and professional..... he even told me he'd give the clerk of courts his recomendation to lower the mph rating down to 79mph so I wouldn't need to lose the license... as long as I put the effort in to make contact with the Lafayette Co courts

He also made no mention of my 3part warning I received last week from a highway patrolman for my speed, lack of front plate, and cover over rear plate

so in the end... I'm not really bitter or angry it could have been much worse

that sucks about the ticket, but good thing its not as bad as it could be.

yeah hope you do alright in court. I wouldn't do almost 100 mph in the rain even on a highway, well I may have once, usually I would just go 5 over or at the speed limit in the rain.

Get all the reductions you can! ;)

Get a good lawyer that knows the judges ;)
If I get a ticket in guilford county, it's practically null unles it's over 90 MPH in which case it's like state law that it stays on my record or something.

that sucks man, 30 days suspension is pretty harsh. Good luck in court and everything.

Yea good luck with the ticket, hopefully you dont loose driving privledges, and hopefully you can get it to a lesser offense.

sounds like a nicer cop. definately get that sucker brought down. I don't know what I would do if I couldn't have my baby for 30 days!

Dude, don't even try to fight it ... take the 79 he offered you, pay the fine, take traffic school and forget about it.

Shit happens .. I got pulled for 85 in 55 and got a ticket for 70 not too long ago. Life goes on.... with less moneys.

Lucky. Anything 90 mph and over in Cali and you cant take driving school!

Trust me, it sucks balls. Walking up everyday knowing ur car is just sitting there teasing u, begging u to drive it knowing u cant.

I've had my license suspended before for a non-traffic related offense for 90 days (one month after I got my license at age 16) and I've had 4 tickets dropped before... 2 others reduced..... it's usually not too difficult as long as you make an effort (contacting the da/city attorney, etc)... however, most of my tickets were in Rock, Dane counties.... never had one here, nor been to this court.... we'll see how it goes


I was also pulled over twice within 20 minutes in my e30 on the way back here because I didn't have my plates on yet (just bought it/registered it)
