94 325i Spring Coil issue

The Spring Coils just went out on my 1994 325i... Wondering some good repair solutions and costs. Also wondering if there are DIY solutions. Thanks in advance.

H&R is often times the best solution for replacement. They have OEM ride & quality if that is what you are interested in. However if you want to upgrade, and lower your ride, it would be best to buy new shocks as well. Bilstein make good shocks.

Yes, 1 of them broke, but I figure the 2nd be replaced as well...as I think it is equally as rusted. Otherwise the car is in top shape. 1994 325i, no rust, scratches, only 50,000 miles.

Thats pretty low milega.e Yes you would replace them in pairs. Honestly a broken coil doesnt hurt your car that much but it's a good move to replace it fast. Odd enough is that you actually ralized one was broken. It is really easy to replace them and you can do it yourself.

Are you looking to upgrade?

If not look around the classifieds sections for people selling their used springs. With only 50k i am clueless as to why yours broke so quick....and how you have a 94 car with such low mileage!

Do you want to lower/upgrade your car?

Yeah, this car basically sat unused in a garage for 5 years...the owner lived abroad and only used it when he returned to the United States. Before that, it had low usage and had only use on local roads...maybe 5 miles a day. I got the car for $5000. Pretty nice deal eh?

He had the car checked out at the BMW dealership from which he purchased the car from, and it checked out perfect. It was a bit hard to drive though when I first got it since it hadn't been driven in so long.

It's driving like as charm now....
