did you just wash your car at all before it happened? one time it happened to me, washed it, the next morning water somehow got into there(not immedietely after wash) and then started misfiring like crazy

right, i know, but i never heard of a BMW car being referred to as a "bimmer" people have always said "beamer". but i do know about the motorcycle thing. i'll look at the computer. stupid German confusing technology.

yeah about washing the car, no, i have not. but the car has been sitting outside for like a year.

i thought bimmers have timing chains?

it is probably the ignition, or maybe try running higher octane gas?

yeah i tried the high octane, i also tried injector cleaner, and some water removing stuff.

Leave it alone dude, hes asking for help, not retarded BMW internet lingo.

Its an e36 so it has a timing chain, no problems here as it will last the life of the engine. If the compression is good replace the obvious - plugs, wires, injectors, coils if need be, sounds like an ignition problem to me.

If the compression is bad then dont bother, because it will most likely burn huge amounts of oil if it has low compression.

Bimmers do have chains. At least the 6 cylinders do. But at 228K, anything is possible.
