E36General discussion and technical help for (E36) 1992-1999 3 series cars. 318, 323, 325, 328.
Yea.. my swaybar completely ripped out of the passenger side control arm today.. haha.
I think it was because of a pothole earlier in the day.. anyways im ordering new sway links for the front and rear as we speak.. but my car will be down for at least 2 days.
My car was handling soo weird with it ripped out on one side, it would turn normally to the left, but it was really vague and unpredictable when turning to the right side.. a little scary.. lol.
Umnitza now provides a mechanic to install all parts ordered right in the box! It's their new "Total customer service program" that will eliminate all the haters and keep incompetents from breaking **** and blaming the vendor! When you are all set simply call INS and they will pick him up free of charge.
a jack
jackstands
Metric open ended wrenches
metric sockets
Of course theres other random ass tools that always end up helping out somehow..
Im putting tierods on my car for 30 bucks in parts.. a shop would charge between 200 and 300, and it only takes 20 minutes. These seriously are not complicated cars at all, they are really user friendly too when it comes to doing your own work, pretty decent amount of room, and most stuff is easily accessible.
For the RSM's i dunno ive never done any before haha.. shouldnt be to hard. Im just figuring shit out as i go

Your Ride: 94 bmw 325i, 97 vw golf
I'll have to try some of this stuff, seeing my car is a 94 with just over 127k miles. Just some preventary maintenance, im not changing my radiator though, seems perfectly fine, but some smaller items, well price-wise.

Don't I know it . . I must be the king of random tools, including newly invented ones that don't work out

The PITA is removing the crap in the way just to get to them . . speaker boxes and carpet linings. You'll spend half your time just doing that. Otherwise it's straightforward, torque the nuts correctly so they don't come loose on you later
