Double Kill!

Hit a deer last weekend while I was traveling at 75 mph on the interstate. Estimate is already over $5000 and the shop is still checking under the hood for more damage!

Will post pics from under the hood tomorrow when I go to see the car at the repair shop.

Did u get in any trouble for hitting the deer?
And did u get to keep the deer?

I'm not into hunting or even eating deer meat. Somewhat small deer, but at 75 mph the damage could have been worse if the hood did not keep the deer from hitting the windsheild. I'm going to try to get some ZKW headlights and I already have a M3 bumper to install!

Damn! Thats quite a bit of damage from a deer. About two weeks ago I turn my head for one second then back and see a deer standing 10 feet in front of me at 60mph. Quick reaction on my part and the sweet handling of the bimmer saved my ass, missed the sucker by less then a foot!

Now that prompted me to upgrade my lights to HID (installing tomorrow) so Ill see those suckers long before.

That sucks dude. I'm sorry.

However the deer seems to be in pretty good condition for being hit by a car at 75mph. Usually it's a lot more... torn up.

Insurance is covering it, right?

I can imagine if he hits a Hard skin Buffalo. I’m still surprise the Airbag did not deploy.

I'm pretty sure airbags deploy by sensing a sudden decceleration. a buck doesn't enough mass to 'stop' your car, so the airbag shouldn't deploy.
