E36General discussion and technical help for (E36) 1992-1999 3 series cars. 318, 323, 325, 328.
Reason i posted this here was because I knwo some of you lamers have these fancy flip deals.
Anyways ive been looking. Basically the onyl one ive been able to find with gauges is a Pioneer N2. Oh lucky me, I decide to find the 2 grand flip screen.
The sad thing is noone knows how to fuckign custom program thee or download some programs to its brain> im sure it doesnt have a hard drive but theres no reason we cant fix that. I need the followign gauges to show up on it
Oil Temperature, Oil Pressure, Volt meter, and Boost gauge. Actually I found that the N2 has a voltmeter but im skeptical as to how accurate it will be.
Since I know many of ya'll have screens left and right I wanted to know if you guys have heard anything about this type of situation. Sure I could just ome VDO gauges for $350, but htats no fun.
ALSO the damn N2 is pissing me off. I hate all these flashy blue lights on all these units. i want the behind-button-lights to show up in a amber to match my console. What the fuck. ive seen tons and tons of Alpine headunits go to amber and I need a good flip that can do it too. Who here knows what im looking for?
Even better, help me find a Pioneer, Alpine, Clarion, or Panasonic that i can do this with. Please dont tell me shit like jensen.

Umnitza now provides a mechanic to install all parts ordered right in the box! It's their new "Total customer service program" that will eliminate all the haters and keep incompetents from breaking **** and blaming the vendor! When you are all set simply call INS and they will pick him up free of charge.
Well Visions Electronics had a a cvic that showcased all of there stuff and instead of a dash board it had a 24" TV right in the middle of the console/dash area and the gauges were ont the TV. As to how they got the gauges to display on it im not sure but the way they had it setup was pretty amaxing. So it is possible just needs hard work and time
Yeah, sorry. I have the N2, I'm not sure about custom programming. The only thing I can think of is setting up a car-computer with a serial port to tap into the OBD computer.... would be tricky though.
OBD computer? OBC you mean? or ECU? it would be cool to tap the ECU, you could get a lot of nice info
it would awesome to tap ur ECU. only problems are u would need some serious skills to be able to do it. Taping ur ECU isnt easy, and if u screw up well then ur screwed
User not setup in Rate My Car. Click here to set it up.

Well not so much u as your car but I doubt BMW would be to happy if you have to explain to them how your ECU broke

Lame. I dont know where to put a boost gauge. I can only fit 3 gauges in my console and I plan on those being oil temp, oil press, and voltmeter. I dont want any a pilar bullshit. That doesnt belong in a BMW. Oh dear. I guess ill have to toss out the voltmeter and go with a N2. Harry how accurate is the voltmeter on the N2?
