anyone with a cosmos racing intake?

I put my cosmos intake in a few days ago, but I noticed that when I took out the stock airbox there was this kind of pipe thing with a metal tip that went into the airbox. Now it is just hanging there, is it supposed to go somewhere, or affect emissions if its not put somewhere else? I'll get a pic up early tomorrow.

that is a thermostat, detects air temperature going into your engine. Just tie it to the piping of your cosmos with some wire or straps or something.

not a big deal.

yeah right now its just ziptied, wasnt sure if it had any purpose, with emissions or anything.

Thanks for the replies. So where is the sensor that shows up on the temp gauge next to the tach?

very good question. I don't know exactly where it is on the engine but my guess would be somewhere in the block so you know when the engine itself is getting too hot.
