Voltage Regulator?

hey guys. I have been having issues with my angel eyes. Once in a while one of the angel eyes in each headlight will go really dim.

I emailed Umnitza and they suggested looking into the voltage regulator. Where is this part? Are they expensive to replace? etc.

thanks

You mean in the car? It's behind the alternator, costs about $50 to replace. I seriously doubt that's causing your angel eyes to dim. A bad voltage regulator would undercharge or not charge your battery, causing other problems, never mind the angel eyes.

I just got home from a little VW meet and went outside and turned on the angel eyes and now they work fine. go figure.

nope. I have no major electronics aside from the headlights that would be drawing too much current.

I've heard some angel eyes are very sensitive to weather. If it's very cold outside, it might take them a while to warm up and get to full brightness... and maybe one of yours isn't completely sealed or something, so it's more sensitive to the coldness...

in the winter mine dont always light up fully. it can take a while for them to reach their full brightness. that usually happens only when it is really cold.
