e36 328i randomly dies while driving
 

e36 328i randomly dies while driving, it started doing this a few weeks and has got worse and i have changed the fuel pump&relay, its very strange, the car will start idle run beautifully, then while driving i will get a jerk and then i know as soon as i put in the clutch the revs hit zero and the car dies, then it will crank over and over with no joy, when i do get it started it wont rev over 2500 RPM, and it seems to be almost limited at 2500, i can then drive it below 2500 revs, i have the little plug in device and i checked it came up with some tank ventilation error but other than that i dont know, any advice/suggestions will be greatly appreciated! thanks chris

A couple of guesses, you could have a vacuum leak, or the fuel pressure regulator may be in need of replacement.

I'd be suspecting the crank sensor.
