I was able to get 17's mounted and balanced with new tires all for 730 bucks.

That includes shipping on the rims and the new tires from tirerack.

$300 for a cf hood? That is so cheap, most of the "decent" ones I see are at least $450 w/out shipping. You have a link to the person that made that group buy, or however you got it?

I think like most people are saying, get some rims first, or intake, exhaust, and a chip. That's pretty much what I am doing.

It was probably a used hood. As long as its not damaged theres no reason not to buy one used.. its not like a used suspension or something.

CF hoods are as cheap as $300. I've seen't 'em on Ebay.

Death2000, I don't see a CF hood on a E36 sedan. I looks better on coupes IMO.
E36 Sedans just aren't as sporty looking as an E36 coupe and the sedan would'nt pull it off the same way...

for $800 get bumpers and rims first...I would say...I think a CF hood would be the last thing on any list of mods I would have...
in fact it was one of the last thing Deloriant did to his car.

^^ Yeah, but I also wouldn't trust the quality of the carbon fiber weave of a hood off ebay either...

Whoa!!! That's insane. Not fair.

The US never does stuff like that. They just take our money.

$400 "prosperity bonus" is the governments brilliant idea of how to spend what is now estimated 9 billion dollar surplus. not that i am complaining about getting a $400 cheque but i think there are a lot better ways to spend that money. this is one of the typical stupid decisions that our government formulates over lunch break

the CF hoods you see on ebay are crap. the edge is cut, rather than rolled. a rolled edge doesn't run the risk of damaging your paint, and is less likely to fray over time. i'd rather pay the $750 plus shipping and get a ViS hood.
