its like it was sitting on a massive pile of oxidizer of some sort. That kidna shit burns HELLA hot because it oxidizes during combustion, creating more oxygen to burn...

theres the VIN in the window, on the sticker on ur drivers door. one one other door, under ur licence plate and on your trunk lid somewere
yeah but those are VIN stickers...The metal is literally melted....I'm sure vin stickers would'nt have stood a chance...
I'm sure once they recognized it was a BMW E36 and that a BMW E36 was recently reported stolen in the area...they would've linked it...

From what i understand about cars is that the Vin is usually in plenty of places which is part of the reason its hard to steal cars and get all of the vins off of them. So I think it would be possible that a few made it through and thats how they were able to identify the car.
