E36 Bentley Manual PDF Download
Hey guys,
The Bentley Manual is probably the best service manual available for the E36, however the cost of them is usually quite steep. Thankfully their is a PDF download available. Also available is the PDF copy of the owners manual. Quite handy as many people no longer have a copy of their owners manual. E36 Bentley Manual E36 Owners Manual E36 Electrical Trouble Shooting Manual Online TIS Service Manual If either of the links go dead please let me know. I have a copy of both saved. Please note that the Bentley Manual is a 97MB download. |
I tried to download the files but the first 2 are unavailable. The messages state that they were infected with a virus. The last two were ok though...

Thanks for letting me know I'll try to get it resolved shortly.

Hello,
A newbie to the Bimmer Board! Looks like a wealth of info! We have ha a 1995 325i for about 3 years, recently one day no start! It cranks, battery is good. Hubby did other tests, plenty of spark, injectors, fuel pump ,changed plugs HP plat's etc....... The problem ,plugs saturated with fuel. Tried to download the manual on the E36,no luck ,any updates to get this downloaded? You sure cannot beat the ride on this car. Any insight would be great! Thank You!! Rossette |
We are working on a rehosting solution at this time. Hopefully we will have it back up tonight. If i am unable to get it operational I will be more then happy to email a copy of it to you if you PM me your email address. The Bentley Manual and Owners Manauals are PDF files.
In the meantime, try the Online TIS manuals for assistance. Located here: http://tis.spaghetticoder.org/e36/ |
E 36 manual
Thank you for the reply! I kept at it and did somehow manage to download the E 36 manual!
Hopefully now hubby can get a little more insight as to what is going on with our 325i!! Cranks, strong spark and new plugs but the plugs are getting flooded/fouled? Thank You!! Rosesette |
If you get blue smoke on start-up, that means oil has leaked into the combustion chamber when the engine has been sitting idle. Possible cause is leaky valve stem seals, which ideally would be fixed by replacing them. That would involve removing the head. Im assuming you mean on the electrodes, which would be indicative of oil getting into the combustion chamber. Oil can get into the combustion chamber via worn piston rings or valve stem seals.

Hi,Thanks for the reply!
He never could get it to turnover! So many factors! Hub said the fuel smells bad? Timing chain? Maybe being it has 240.000 miles, original owner said it was never replaced. Checked the compression back 4 are good and the front 2 are high, squirting oil in them made no big differance. He is going over the manual we got from you . He is a mechanic but never worked on a BMW! Thanks again!! Rosesette |
A lot of people think working on a BMW is the most difficult thing out their, but it's really not. It's still an engine like any other, just different design and style. Changing the plugs in my BMW is much easier then changing them in my GMC! I have to take a wheel off to get to the #3 plug.
|
I can understand what you said! Just a diff design and getting to know your way around!! Sounds awful having to remove a wheel to get to a plug! What model GMC?
Hub has done a lot of wrenching and from his past projects he will stick it out till he gets er running!! Rosesette |
It's a 98 GMC Jimmy. It's because of How the engine sits that it's easier to remove the drivers wheel and go through the fender to acess it.

Grabbed the files. No issues.

Good to hear GDJ. Surprised you didn't get them earlier.
|
I was relying on my big brain, and failed only twice. :o:
|
I was able to open the file!!
Sure helped! But the culprit was bad fuel, got er running now no problem so far! |
