I think the dealer is like $800 to $1000.
The unit alone is $500+
I've seen used ones on EBAY for less than $100.
If your A/C just needs a charge...then go to Kmart and get a $24 can of freon and find the hoses behind the positive terminal under the hood and charge it thhru there.

oh yeah I tried recharging the ac, but unfortuantely with mine it is the compressor that leaks. Some of those DIY recharge kits come with a dye that goes in it, so if you use a light, I am using a black light you can check the pipes for leaks after about a week of using it.
