E36 Throttle Body Bore out ?? - United Bimmer Community

Hey all was wondering is the Throttle body Upgrade would be a descent mod or will there be any real improvments in topEnd performance.

Also i heard somewhere that the Bored out Throttle body that din@n and other companies sell is the Same thing as the Stock Just drilled down... any info on boring one of these out yourself? and saving the $350.00!!!!

I've actually heart people go through HELL with the software of their car after they do a throttle body mod. There was a guy on another forum where I read his horror story for a month about it. Assumingly if you use the dinan software made for it, you'll be fine, but if you've done anything else major modding (so the software wouldn't be accurate), you could have issues. After hearing all that, I decided not to do it.

i dont know if that actually helps that much, but what does help is if you get the euro intake manifold with 6 throttle bodies.. but if ur complaining about money now.. haha

oh hell no im not paying that much! i was thinking of gettin one on ebay cheep ($35.00 is what they are goin for) and boring it out myself and testing it, i also email Turner motorsports asking if the bored out TB would be ok if i used it with the Chip i purchased from them.

still waitin for a response.......

heheh well shit im emailing all these people from different companies and peopel that have set these things up. there gotta be away and im diving in and gonna find out. wish me luck
