water leak damn another problem!!! - United Bimmer Community

ok so i get in my car to go to Autoparts to buy a Cabin Filter ?
(driving normal 35mph ) i get to the shop. i park and shut off the ignition, for about 5 seconds i sit in there listening to a sizzing sound and water dripi get out and take a look under the car, and wham! freakin juicing out bunch of water with sizzle sound, im like WTF!

so i figure its just well i dont know, so i go in come out with my filter i just purchased( 5 min later).
pop the hood then i hear no sound or see no drips from under the car. im like whew, so just to check i open the radiator coolant, its freakin low, i go buy some coolant pour that in, it took 1/4 of the gallon. So i start my car again and i see little drips. i get back on the road driving home and i start seeing the temp gauge climbing. Argh !

So i get in the parking lot open the hood and again i hear the sizzle sound and now i see steam but its not coming from the radiator its coming from the back by the firewall bottom of engine,

anyone got an idea on wtf just happened!

Which side? Auto trans, or manual?

auto

hear the noise coming from the back by the firewall ( side of brake booster, intake etc.)

and some steam from the other side back of engine.

That's what I was thinking. Could be the 4-way hose that goes to the block, heater outlet, and expansion tank. If so, it's about 60-65 bucks if you plan to replace it yourself.

yeah there are a few hoses back there, check your hose to the heater core.. actually try turning on your heater full blast and see if it is hot air, if it isnt either it is that hose or you have air in your system, most likely one, or maybe even both

btw after you replace that hose if you do, make sure you bleed your radiator

That's what it's called, a 4-way hose, and it's kinda specific to BMW, I doubt Autozone will have it in stock. Probably a special order item. But first make sure that's what your problem is.

yea leakin from the back ( i talked to my dad ( worked on cars for over 20 yrs) he said i may be just a hose , check the heater core ) but man who knows why that temp needle was climbing on my way back home maybe the water pump or thermostat both may be fuct.

yes, the temperature needle was climbing probably because you have air in your system, thats why i said turn on the heater and see if it has hot air, and if it doesnt then you need to bleed your system

ok will do also i have a pik here and would like to knoiw what u guys think about these 2 a hose would go on that area and maybe possibly would it be a freeze plug.
