Or the lighter gray/whiteish might have been the color of the actual plastic itself, before it was painted.

becareful...if you do it that way...you also risk scratching the paint underneath, also buy clearcoat, and touch up paint...cause when yo get under there you'll need it or your skirts ay look worse.

I did this shortly after getting the car. I did it in my garage with a carpet brush and some castrol purple. Afterwards I washed and waxed the area and it looks great. Most people think that I painted it.

Oh and Harry this is only for the metal rocker panels.. Not the painted sideskirts.

also about the skirts, do you think painting my sideskirts and the gray parts of my front and rear bumper black would look ok? Probably won't when I get the gunmetal rims soon... Just wondering. Sorry for OT.

You mean the jack hole plugs? They are plastic and I used the leftover paint from my front and rear bumpers to spray a light coat. A rattle can should be good though.

ON the gray removal or the paint?

Gray removal.. Spray with castrol purple, scrub until your fingers bleed. wash, wax, hope you dont have to repeat.

The plastic was simple. Prepare everything to paint your bumpers and then go "oh yea I almost forgot about these little buggers" Spray with plastic primer (Bull Dog) and paint. Dry, install, repeat.
